President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has sent a congratulatory letter to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on the occasion of the national holiday – Independence Day. In his message, the Uzbek leader wished the fraternal republic further well-being, prosperity and progress.

Mirziyoyev noted that in recent years, cooperation between the two countries has been actively developing in political, trade-economic, cultural-humanitarian and other spheres. He stated that strategic partnership and alliance relations have reached a new level thanks to joint efforts.

"I am confident that the full implementation of important agreements reached through regular meetings and dialogue with you will serve to further strengthen our multifaceted ties," the congratulation reads.

The President of Uzbekistan also specifically mentioned the 13th session of the World Urban Forum, recently held in Baku. He called its successful organization another confirmation of Azerbaijan's growing authority on the international stage.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev participated in the opening of this forum. The event was dedicated to sustainable urban development issues.
