Tashkent, Uzbekistan – Podrobno.uz. The first freight train has set off on the China-Kazakhstan-Uzbekistan-Afghanistan route. The train consists of 50 forty-foot containers, a correspondent from Podrobno.uz reports.
According to Uztemiryulcontainer, the containers departed from several stations in China to the city of Urumqi. The cargo will then travel through Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan to its final destination.
The Chinese side sent office supplies, solar panel components, fabrics, and other products in the containers. The new route is expected to simplify cargo delivery in the region and strengthen Uzbekistan's transit role.
The next train with similar cargo on this route is planned for May 30. Earlier, the launch of the first container train on the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan-Tajikistan route was reported.
