A large buildup of people and vehicles has been reported at the Kaplanbek border crossing point on the Uzbekistan-Kazakhstan border. The queues are attributed to technical issues on the Uzbek side.
According to the Border Service of Kazakhstan's National Security Committee, the difficulties stem from disruptions at Uzbekistan's Navoi checkpoint. As a result, some citizens are forced to wait to enter the neighboring country.
Meanwhile, the Kazakh checkpoint continues to operate normally, with no restrictions imposed on border crossing.
Uzbek authorities stated that specialists are working to resolve the technical glitches and restore normal operations at the checkpoint. Citizens are advised to take the situation into account when planning trips and to check the border situation in advance.
A similar situation occurred during Navruz holiday, when thousands of people were stuck in long queues.
