Uzbekistan has launched a new format of intellectual competitions, which will be held in five categories: "Best Invention", "Best Utility Model", "Best Industrial Design", "Best Computer Program and Database", and "Best Breeding Achievement". The competitions will take place in two stages: the first stage in regions and Tashkent, and the second stage nationwide.
Winners of the second stage will receive cash prizes: first place is awarded 150 BRV (over 61 million Uzbek soums), second place 125 BRV (over 51 million soums), and third place 100 BRV (over 41 million soums). Funding will be provided by the Innovation Support Fund.
The organizer, the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education, will annually approve the conditions and evaluation criteria by May 1, publishing them on official resources. Applications will be accepted through the portal im-adliya.uz. This initiative follows the Uzbek government's adoption of a resolution approving regulations for conducting competitions in the field of intellectual activity.
