In the first three months of 2026, more than 191,100 children were born in Uzbekistan, according to the National Statistics Committee. The majority of births occurred in three regions, which have become the country's main demographic drivers.
Samarkand region leads with 23,120 newborns, followed by Fergana (21,563) and Kashkadarya (21,292). The lowest birth rates were recorded in Syrdarya (4,813) and Navoi (5,241) regions.
Gender distribution shows a slight male majority: 98,500 boys (51.5%) compared to 92,600 girls.
Earlier, the National Statistics Committee compiled a demographic portrait of parenthood in Uzbekistan, reflecting age preferences for starting families and changes in birth dynamics.
