An Uzbek citizen was killed in an explosion in Vladikavkaz, North Ossetia, on the morning of April 17. The incident occurred at the intersection of International Street and Partisan Lane, where an explosion detonated as municipal service workers were loading garbage containers. Preliminary reports indicate the blast was caused by explosive devices that had been discarded into a public trash bin.
The deceased was an employee of the company "SpezEknoServis." According to his colleague Bunyat Shirov, the man had come from Uzbekistan for work and left behind five children in his home country. Emergency services, bomb disposal experts, and law enforcement agencies responded to the scene, examining the garbage truck's contents for other hazardous materials.
After the inspection, the vehicle was towed to a landfill for further analysis. The Prosecutor's Office of the Industrial District of Vladikavkaz and investigative authorities have launched an inquiry into the incident, initiating a criminal case under Part 1 of Article 109 of the Russian Criminal Code (causing death by negligence).
Authorities are currently working to identify those responsible for discarding the dangerous items into the public container, which resulted in the fatal tragedy. The investigation highlights ongoing concerns about public safety and waste management protocols in the region.
