Tashkent, Uzbekistan – Podrobno.uz. Operatives from the specialized customs complex 'Tashkent-Aero' and the State Security Service detained two passengers arriving from Bishkek who attempted to bring the substance Alpha-PVP into Uzbekistan.
During inspection of the first passenger's hand luggage, about 500 grams of a powder-like substance resembling a synthetic drug were found in a sports nutrition container. A similar case was identified with the second passenger on the same flight, whose luggage also contained over 500 grams of a suspicious substance disguised as a sports supplement.
To identify the recipient of the drugs, operational activities continued in the Sergeli district of Tashkent. In one of the mahallas, a 30-year-old man was detained while picking up the first batch. During a search of his home, scales and zip-packaging bags prepared for repackaging and further distribution of the drugs were found.
It turned out that the second batch was to be left in the Yukorichirchik district and was to be collected by the same person. Additionally, a check of one courier's phone revealed that in April he had hidden about 500 grams of synthetic drugs in a cache for subsequent sale.
In total, over 1.5 kg of the substance was seized during the multi-stage operation. According to expert analysis, it is the synthetic drug α-PVP. Commonly known as 'salt' or 'crystals,' this substance is among the most dangerous and rapidly addictive. Possession of even 0.01 grams is classified as a large quantity and entails criminal liability.
A criminal case has been initiated, and investigative actions are ongoing. Earlier, officers of the Ishtikhan district internal affairs department in Samarkand region conducted a series of successful special operations, resulting in the detention of synthetic drug dealers and the liquidation of an underground warehouse of plant-based drugs. In total, over 4 kilograms of prohibited substances were removed from illegal circulation.
